Also, do you use a sunscreen with at least a SPF of 15 or greater?

i have had many many moles removed because the dermatologist said they look to have some growth on them. I recommend everyone have the off colored ones looked at immediately. Especially the pale guys out there like me.

i only use SPF 45 when i do go out in the sun. stuff goes on like paint and doesnt really come off at all.

i played tennis for 12 years everyday outside without sunscreen and most people tell me i look alot older than i am. i won a contest and won a facial at some upscale spa and the girl mentioned to me my skin was rather weather beaten

nowadays i only go outside in direct sunlight before 9am or after 4 pm

other than driving around - it is very harmful for you and im glad its much wider reported now than previously.

Is this a painful procedure?

all they give you is a numbing shot that makes the mole puff up. then they scrape it off. it hurts like cigarette burn for 2 weeks.

if the lab determines they need to remove more, then they dig further and this requires stitches. was very painful on top of my head. didnt hurt as much on my back (last month), leg, and shoulder.

i would hate to see what happens if you wait to long. i go every 4-6 months to dermatologist.

It's like drinkin' .... to much is bad for you. Sun is actually good for you in moderation. There are reports that sunscreen causes cancer. Not sure about that one. I have kids with fair skin and load them up with sunscreen when they are going to be exposed for long periods. Anyone else hear about sunscreen causing cancer?

I hope not!!! ..I think is just some sort of fungal infection caused by the sun. I know it doesn't sound good at all, although is better than skin cancer.

Sun exposure

i definitely limit my sun exposure during the day
i know that the sun is a great source of vitamin d but overexposure can be harmful to the skin
so i carry an umbrella with me when i go out in the harsh sun
sometimes i do apply sunscreen lotion for extra protection
